Student Counselling
At Annamacharya University, student counselling and mentoring are prioritized, with each faculty mentor assigned 30-40 students. The mentoring approach is designed to support students’ holistic development through regular interactions that address academic progress, personal growth, and involvement in extracurricular activities. Mentors track their mentees’ academic performance, identify challenges, and provide customized guidance to help students overcome obstacles.
In addition to academic support, mentors encourage participation in extracurricular activities that foster essential soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication. They also monitor students’ emotional well-being, offering advice on managing stress and maintaining a balanced life between academics and personal interests.
Mentors aid in career planning by providing insights into industry trends, assisting with elective choices, and helping students find internships and research opportunities. They work with students to create individualized development plans that include both academic and co-curricular goals, offering regular feedback to ensure ongoing progress.
Mentoring records are meticulously maintained within the campus ERP system, allowing for efficient tracking of interactions and development. Mentors also facilitate access to academic resources like tutoring and workshops, mediate conflicts, and provide a supportive environment for students to voice concerns. They encourage self-reflection and help students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement, ultimately guiding them toward resilience and adaptability.
Through these comprehensive mentoring sessions, the aim is to nurture well-rounded individuals who achieve academic excellence, possess emotional resilience, and are well-prepared for successful careers.
