Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations at Annamacharya University on 02.10.2024

On Tuesday, Annamacharya University, Rajampet, celebrated the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the great leader who brought independence to India and is revered as the Father of the Nation. The event was held with grandeur, remembering Gandhi’s life principles and the values that serve as an inspiration to all. On this occasion, the Touchstone department organized essay writing competitions for university students on the topic of Mahatma Gandhi’s lifestyle and his profound thoughts.

In these competitions, P. Venkata Deepthi from the third year of CSE won the first prize, I. Madhuvani from the first year of MCA secured the second prize, and R. Sazia from the first year of CSE (AIML) won the third prize. The prizes were distributed to the winners by the college Principal, Dr. S.M.V. Narayana. On this occasion, the college Vice Chairman, Choppa Ellareddy, praised Mahatma Gandhi, stating that his life is an inspiration for everyone, and he dedicated his life to the nation.

Following this, the Principal, Dr. S.M.V. Narayana, mentioned that Gandhi used non-violence as a powerful weapon to drive the British out of India. The event was attended by University Registrar, Dr. N. Mallikarjuna Rao, Head of H&S Department, Dr. B. Balanagendra Prasad, Touchstone Coordinator, P. Vijay Kumar, faculty members, and students.
