A one-day guest lecture on 3D printing was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Annamacharya Engineering College. Dr. S. Solomon Bobby from EOS India Private Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, was invited as the guest speaker for the event.

During the lecture, Dr. Solomon Bobby elaborated on the significance of 3D printing, its applications, and its impact on the manufacturing industry. He explained how 3D printing technology simplifies the development of complex designs in less time and highlighted its revolutionary role in healthcare, particularly in creating body parts that can be integrated into the human body to achieve remarkable results.

On Thursday, students were provided with hands-on knowledge about operating 3D printing machines and the processes involved in 3D printing. Dr. A. Hemant Kumar, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, emphasized the importance of collaborating with industries through MOUs to enhance students’ understanding of emerging technologies, thereby improving their employment opportunities.

The program was coordinated by Mr. V. Venkatesh and witnessed active participation from faculty members and students of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
