NVIDIA AI Summit India
Mr. Abhishek Reddy, Pro-Chancellor, Annamacharya University attended an event on 24th October, 2024 at Mumbai, where he shared the stage with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang. Addressing an audience of entrepreneurs, developers, academics, and business leaders, Huang emphasized AI as the cornerstone of India’s future. He highlighted the country’s ‘amazing natural resource’—its expertise in IT and computer science—and the immense potential waiting to be unlocked.
Huang identified three key areas where AI will revolutionize industries: sovereign AI, where nations leverage their own data for innovation; agentic AI, which automates knowledge-based tasks; and physical AI, which applies AI to industrial processes through robotics and autonomous systems. He noted that India is uniquely positioned to lead in all three domains.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also attended the event and discussed the role AI will play in shaping India’s future, particularly in sectors like energy, telecommunications, and manufacturing.
A Vision for India’s AI-Driven Future As the session concluded, both Huang and Ambani shared their vision for an AI-driven future for India. With its vast talent pool, growing tech ecosystem, and abundant data resources, they agreed that India has the potential to make significant global contributions in fields such as energy, healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.
Ambani emphasized the importance of collaboration, stating, “This cannot be achieved by any one company or individual; we must all work together to bring the intelligence age to the world in a way that fosters equality and prosperity.” Huang echoed this sentiment, adding, “Let’s make it a promise today that we will work together to ensure India capitalizes on the intelligence revolution ahead of us.
