Dr. L. Obulapathi is a seasoned academician and accomplished researcher with over three decades of teaching experience and a profound research background in Physics. Currently serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Humanities and Sciences at Annamacharya University, Rajampet, he brings with him a legacy of academic rigor, innovative research, and visionary leadership.
He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapuramu, with a specialization in advanced materials, thin films, and nanostructured materials. His pioneering research explores magnetron sputtering techniques for thin-film fabrication, the optical and electrical behavior of thin films, and the transformative effects of heavy ion irradiation on nanomaterials. His work not only deepens scientific understanding but also plays a crucial role in advancing technologies in electronics, photonics, and nanotechnology.
Throughout his distinguished academic career, Dr. Obulapathi has held several key positions. He previously served as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at AITS and began his journey as a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Physics at SKSC Degree College, Proddatur. His scholarly contributions include the publication of 22 research papers in reputed international journals and active engagement in 19 national and international conferences and workshops, reflecting the breadth and depth of his expertise. He is also currently guiding two Ph.D. scholars, furthering his commitment to advancing research and mentorship in the field.
Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Obulapathi has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to institutional development and community engagement. Since 2005, he has served as the NSS Coordinator, leading a wide array of impactful initiatives such as blood donation drives, environmental campaigns, and rural development programs. He has also played an instrumental role in academic governance as a member of the Board of Studies, the Lab Audit Committee, and as Chairman of the Canteen Observation Committee.
Dr. Obulapathi is deeply invested in nurturing holistic student development. He actively mentors and supports students beyond the classroom, serving as an organizer and resource person for a variety of academic, cultural, and co-curricular activities. His ability to inspire and guide young minds speaks to his dedication to cultivating both intellectual and ethical growth among learners.
