Introduction

The Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) is a dedicated initiative in the year 2009, aimed at nurture gender equality, empowering women, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for all. The cell is committed to enhancing the social, educational, economic, and cultural development of women by providing them with opportunities, support, and resources to realize their full potential.

Our mission is to inspire confidence, leadership, and independence among women by organizing awareness programs, skill development workshops, and mentorship initiatives. Through various activities and collaborations, we strive to break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and promote a culture of respect and equality.

The Women Empowerment Cell serves as a platform to address gender-related issues, advocate for women’s rights, and encourage active participation in all spheres of life. Our goal is to nurture an environment where women feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute meaningfully to society

Swami Vivekananda said, “That country and that nation which doesn’t respect women will never become great now and nor will ever in future and in pursuit of making India a great Nation, let us work towards giving women their much deserved status”.

To empower the women fraternity of AITS, intellectually, emotionally, culturally mentally, physically and economically aiming at social upliftment of overall personality interms of peace, security and prosperity of mankind.

Main motto-Annamacaharya University:

Endeavours to ensure gender-sensitive community with equal opportunity environment.Also enacted to construct the campus-environment safe for women – free from exploitation, harassment, and violence of any nature.

Objectives

  • To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender.
  • To promote awareness among girl students on occupational, legal and constitutional rights.
  • To highlight the importance of spirituality, health, hygiene, safety and secur.
  • To strengthen the physical and psychological attitude of women to handle critical circumstances.
  • To nurture the girl students to be self defensive and self reliant.
  • To Conduct various competitions, guest lectures, seminars and workshops to encourage their artistic talents for creative thinking and to impart knowledge of various opportunities.
  • To inculcate entrepreneurial attitude among young girls at the earliest so that they can be “job providers” rather than “job seekers”.

We, the female fraternity of AITS, are commited to have a safe. Unbiased ambience with our collective effort. We unitedly fight any sort of discrimination and secure a well protected, encouraging and synergic environment for realizing our hidden and ambitious potential.

Instructions to girl students-

  • Body fit clothing, transparent or revealing outfits should be avoided.
  • Torn, faded jeans, T shirts should be avoided.
  • Salwar kameez with duppatta is advisable for girls.
  • Harassment of any nature should be reported to the higher authorities for redressal.
