The College of Agriculture at Annamacharya University celebrated World Soil Day on 05 December 2025 with great enthusiasm and also organized a special orientation program for newly admitted first-year students. The event aimed to create awareness about soil conservation, environmental sustainability, and the importance of agriculture in national development while introducing students to academic and career opportunities in the agricultural sector. The program was attended by distinguished dignitaries including Mr. C. Yella Reddy, Vice-Chairman, AITS, Dr. S. M. V. Narayana, Principal, AITS, Dr. D. Lokanatha Reddy, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Dr. C. Sudarsana, Assistant Professor. The speakers emphasized the significance of sustainable agricultural practices, soil health management, and environmental protection. They highlighted the role of healthy soil in improving crop productivity and ensuring food security. The orientation session provided students with valuable insights into agricultural education, research opportunities, and future career prospects in the field.
