Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science
B.Sc. in Forensic Science program has been started from the academic year 2025-2026. This program has been designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific principles and techniques used in criminal investigations. This is a three-year undergraduate program divided into six semesters, aiming to equip students with the practical and theoretical knowledge required to analyze physical evidence and contribute to the justice system. Forensic Science is a multidisciplinary field involving biology, chemistry, physics, and law, applied to uncover facts in criminal and civil cases. Graduates of this program will be skilled in evidence collection, laboratory analysis, and interpretation of scientific data, playing a crucial role in crime solving and law enforcement. This program prepares students to meet the growing demand for forensic experts in various sectors, including police departments, forensic laboratories, legal firms, and research institutions.
Objectives
The main objectives of the course are:
- To develop analytical, observational, and critical thinking skills necessary for investigating and interpreting forensic evidence accurately.
- To provide a strong foundation in the fundamental sciences including biology, chemistry, and physics as applied to forensic analysis.
- To train students in the collection, preservation, and analysis of physical evidence from crime scenes using modern forensic techniques and tools.
- To cultivate ethical responsibility and integrity while working with sensitive and legal evidence.
- To promote interdisciplinary learning and teamwork through laboratory work, case studies, and mock crime scene investigations.
- To prepare graduates for lifelong learning and adaptation to emerging technologies and methodologies in forensic science.

Eligibility Criteria
- Completion of Higher Secondary School (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.
- A minimum percentage in the qualifying examination is usually required, generally around 50% to 60%.
