1. Introduction

The Alumni Association of Annamacharya University functions as an important link between the University and its graduates. The primary objective of the Association is to maintain a strong and lasting relationship with alumni and to collect and share information regarding their employment, professional achievements, and contributions to society.

The Annamacharya University Alumni Welfare Association brings together graduates, popularly known as former AITians, to strengthen their connections with their alma mater and fellow graduates. The Association organizes alumni meetings, get-togethers, guest lectures, invited talks, workshops, seminars, and other academic and social events. It also encourages the publication of newsletters and magazines, promotes professional networking, and mobilizes voluntary contributions to support institutional development.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI & DS) is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and centres of excellence. Its alumni are spread across the globe and contribute to various sectors as CEOs, directors, entrepreneurs, academicians, researchers, and consultants.

As the Department continues to grow in academic excellence, research, and technological innovation, the Alumni Association plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between academia and industry. It provides a platform for knowledge sharing, professional collaboration, student mentoring, internships, placements, and higher education guidance. The Association also promotes lasting friendships, professional relationships, and mutual support among alumni, faculty members, and current students.

2. Vision, Mission and Key Activities of the AI & DS Alumni Association

1. Regular Alumni Meetings: To organize regular meetings, reunions, and interactive sessions to strengthen the relationship between alumni and the Department.
2. Promotion of Engineering Education: To conduct awareness programmes on engineering education, particularly in rural areas, and encourage students to pursue higher education and technical careers.
3. Enhancement of Departmental Reputation: To uphold and enhance the reputation of the AI & DS Department by promoting academic excellence and maintaining global standards in education and research.
4. Knowledge-Sharing Activities: To organize knowledge-sharing sessions, seminars, workshops, conferences, guest lectures, and invited talks by distinguished alumni and industry experts.
5. Financial Support and Resource Mobilization: To encourage voluntary contributions from alumni for departmental development, student welfare, research activities, and infrastructure improvement.
6. Internship and Placement Opportunities: To facilitate alumni-supported internships, industrial training, placement opportunities, and career guidance for current students.
7. Higher Education Guidance: To guide students aspiring to pursue higher education in India and abroad by sharing information about universities, admission procedures, scholarships, and career opportunities.
8. Recognition of Distinguished Alumni: To identify prominent alumni and showcase their professional achievements, innovations, and contributions to inspire and motivate current students.

14. Infrastructure Development: To encourage the establishment of a dedicated Alumni Association office and guest house within the University campus, subject to institutional approval and applicable regulations.
