Student Counselling
At Annamacharya University, In CSE (CS &IOT) department student counselling and mentoring are given utmost importance, with each faculty mentor assigned 30-40 students. The mentoring process is designed to foster the holistic development of students through regular interactions that focus on academic progress, personal growth, and co-curricular engagement. Mentors track their mentees’ academic achievements, identify challenges, and provide tailored guidance to help students overcome difficulties.
In addition to academic support, mentors encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities that develop essential soft skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication. They also monitor students’ emotional well-being, offering guidance on managing stress and maintaining a healthy balance between academic and personal life.
Mentors assist in career planning, offering insights into industry trends, guiding the selection of electives, and helping students identify internships and research opportunities. They work with students to create individualized development plans that map out both academic and co-curricular goals, providing regular feedback to ensure continuous progress.
Furthermore, mentors facilitate access to academic resources such as tutoring and workshops, mediate conflicts, and create a supportive space where students can express concerns. They encourage self-reflection and help students recognize their strengths and areas for improvement, ultimately guiding them towards resilience and adaptability in real-world situations.
Through these comprehensive mentoring sessions, the goal is to nurture well-rounded individuals who excel academically, are emotionally resilient, and are prepared to succeed in their future careers.
