ABOUT INNOVATION AND INCUBATION CENTRE
Innovation and Incubation centre (IIC) of CSE is established in Annamacharya University for encouraging the students to become innovative product creators in their future career by becoming entrepreneurs. This Innovation and Incubation centre main aim is to provide conducive environment for engineering students, faculty, and research scholars to convert their ideas into commercially viable products. This IIC is in the process of procuring the state of art infrastructure to manufacture the prototypes of any innovative engineering product. Our Professors of all the engineering branches acts as mentors to guide the students in converting their ideas into commercially viable products. The IIC is collaborating with various academic and Govt. research organizations for mentoring the students and faculty in converting their ideas into startup companies. The IIC organizes 2 to 3 Ideas Competitions for students and faculty for creating innovative culture among the engineering students and faculty. Innovation and Incubation Centre organizes workshops, and training programs to make the students and faculty aware about the importance of innovation, Intellectual Property Rights, and startups in their professional career growth and in turn the nation growth. Our college supports the inventors financially for applying patents and to establish the startups. The IIC activities nurture a culture of creativity, experimentation, and risk-taking qualities among the students and faculty for making them future entrepreneurs and to become job creators. One of the goal of IIC is to contribute to the economic development of the region through innovation and entrepreneurship development activities. The IIC encourages innovation that addresses social, environmental, and economic challenges faced by the people present in state. The IIC wants to create a lasting impact on the innovation ecosystem among the students of Annamacharya University. The IIC wants to become a leading innovation hub in southern India for its impact on society and the economy.
MISSION:
The Innovation and Incubation Centre aims to:
- Conduct the Webinars and motivation lectures regularly to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship qualities among the students, faculty, and alumni of Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences.
- Conducts the Ideas competitions regularly to provide a platform for idea generation, prototyping, and testing.
- Foster collaboration between academia, industry, and government organization.
- Support startups and early-stage companies in their growth journey

- Develop a culture of innovation that inspires future generations of students, faculty, and alumni
- Create a lasting impact on the innovation ecosystem
Short-term Goals (2024-2029)
- Establish a creative thinking ecosystem among students, faculty, and industry partners.
- Support 25+ startups through IIC by providing resources, mentorship, and funding opportunities to Inventors.
- To organize regular webinars, hackathons, and conferences to promote innovation and entrepreneurship culture among students and faculty.
- Develop partnerships with 20+ industry partners for collaborative research and to do innovative projects.
Long-term Goals (2030-2035)
- Our Innovation and Incubation Centre wants to become a leading innovation hub in southern India, recognized for its impact on society and the economy.
- We want to support 70+ successful startups, with a combined valuation of Rs.100+ crores.
- We want to establish research centers of excellence in key areas like Automobile, Power Sector, Power Electronics, Electrical Technologies, Home appliances, construction technology and in AI.
- Foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, with 10% of graduates pursuing entrepreneurial or innovation-related careers.
- We will try to increase our industry partnerships to 25+, driving collaborative research and innovation projects.
Policies and Guidelines of the Innovation and Incubation Centre:
The Innovation and Incubation Centre at Annamacharya University is committed to create a supportive and conducive environment for encouraging the innovation and entrepreneurship culture among the students and faculty. The following policies and guidelines outline the Innovation and Incubation centre’s rules, regulations, and expectations:
- The registration of membership with Innovation and Incubation centre of Annamacharya University is open to students, faculty, and alumni at free of cost.
- The Innovators and entrepreneurs retain ownership of their intellectual property and the Incubatee has to pay the rent regularly for utilizing the facilities of the IIC in doing his/her business.
- The IIC may support funding, mentorship, and resources to selected startups and projects but the financial support from the IIC is subject to availability and approval by the University management.
- The IIC members are responsible for the safe and responsible use of centre facilities and equipment and in case of damage or misuse of resources may result in membership termination and liability for damages.
- The IIC offers mentorship and guidance to the members, whose ideas are selected in the Ideas Competitions.
- The IIC reserves the right to host events and activities that may impact member access to facilities and resources
- The IIC membership may be terminated for non-compliance with centre policies and guidelines.
- The centre reserves the right to update and amend these policies and guidelines as necessary.
- By joining the Innovation and Incubation Centre, members acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to abide by these policies and guidelines.
