Student Publications
Student research journals provide an organized account of how students look into and tackle certain topics in their field of study. They also document the process and results of academic research. Student research journals typically include:
- Research Question and Objectives: Research objectives describe what your research is trying to achieve and explain why you are pursuing it. They summarize the approach and purpose of your project and help to focus your research.
- Literature Review: This section reviews existing research related to the topic, summarizing key theories, findings, and gaps that the student’s research aims to address.
- Methodology: Detailed description of the research design, including the methods used for data collection and analysis. This may involve experimental procedures, surveys, interviews, or other research techniques.
- Results: Presentation of the data collected during the research. This section often includes tables, graphs, and statistical analyses that summarize the findings.
- Discussion: Interpretation of the results in the context of the research question and objectives. This section explores the implications of the findings, compares them with previous research, and discusses any limitations or potential sources of error.
- Conclusion: Summarizes the key findings and their relevance to the research question. It may also suggest areas for future research or practical applications of the results.
- References: A list of all sources cited in the journal, following a specific citation style (e.g., APA, MLA).
- Appendices: Additional material such as raw data, detailed methodologies, or supplementary information that supports the research but is too extensive to include in the main sections.
