The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Annamacharya University, formerly known as Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Rajampet, has been a pillar of excellence since its establishment in 1998. Over the years, the department has grown significantly, emerging as one of the finest in the Rayalaseema region. We pride ourselves on a robust team of 31 dedicated full-time faculty members, supported by 11 lab staff members, all committed to delivering high-quality education and nurturing the next generation of engineers.

The department is guided by a team of highly experienced and dedicated faculty members, including senior professors with vast expertise and all M.Tech. qualified faculty. Our faculty is committed to delivering quality education, fostering innovation, and nurturing students into well-rounded professionals. With state-of-the-art labs, advanced research facilities, and a curriculum designed to meet industry standards, our department consistently produces graduates who excel in both academics and industry. We take pride in creating an environment that encourages both technical skills and holistic development, making our department a leader in mechanical engineering education.

Our department is recognized as a Research Centre (RRC) under JNTUA, Anantapuramu, with four recognized Ph.D. supervisors, providing a conducive environment for cutting-edge research in areas such as high-temperature materials, additive manufacturing, and advanced machining. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities, including a high-temperature muffle furnace (1400°C), vacuum hot air oven, mechanical stirrer, and a DLP 3D printer.

We also house 14 well-equipped technical laboratories and have established strong industry connections through our skill development labs, including the APSSDC-Siemens CNC Lab, welding lab, automotive labs, and the APSSDC-Dassault Systems 3D Experience Center. Additionally, our partnership with the Indo-European Skilling Centers for Mechatronics & Industrial Robotics has led to the establishment of the ARC (Applied Robot Control) Laboratory.

Our faculty members are actively engaged in teaching, research, and consultancy, having collectively published over 135 technical papers in reputed journals and conferences over the past decade. The department has successfully completed several research projects funded by public and private sectors, further underscoring our commitment to innovation and excellence.

The undergraduate curriculum is updated every two years to keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies. This dedication to academic rigor is reflected in our students’ success, with many securing placements in top companies across various sectors. The department also offers a unique dual degree program in collaboration with RWTH Aachen University, Germany, further enhancing the global opportunities available to our students.
