Annamacharya Institute of Technology & Sciences, Rajampet
Department: Mechanical Engineering
Programme Dates: 24th January 2025 to 29th January 2025
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Annamacharya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Rajampet, inaugurated a six-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 24th January 2025 at 6:00 PM through online mode. A total of 123 participants from across India took part in this programme. Sponsored by ATAL-AICTE, New Delhi, the FDP focused on advanced topics including Biomaterials, Surface Engineering, 3D Printing, Nanotechnology, and Tissue Engineering.
Faculty participants enhanced their knowledge and skills in the design, synthesis, surface processing, and 3D modelling of biomaterials. A major highlight of the programme was the special training provided on the development of implants and scaffolds for orthopedic and tissue engineering applications. Furthermore, lectures covered cutting-edge knowledge in biotechnology, medical engineering, and emerging research trends.
Keynote lectures by distinguished experts from IITs, the USA, France, and premier institutions in India served as major attractions of the programme.
The programme was successfully coordinated with key support from ATAL-AICTE, New Delhi; Dr. C. Gangireddy (Secretary, AET), Dr. C. Ramachandra Reddy (Chairman, AET), Sri C. Yella Reddy (Vice-Chairman, AET), and Sri C. Abhishek Reddy (Executive Director and Treasurer, AET). The event was efficiently convened by Dr. Hemanth Kumar (Convener), with coordination from Mr. Ajay Kumar Reddy (Coordinator), and Mr. Venkatesh (Co-Coordinator).
This programme significantly contributed to the professional development of faculty members by enriching their technical knowledge and fostering skills essential for research and development in orthopedic biomaterials.
