Grand Celebration of Farmer's Day at Annamacharya University.

Annamacharya University’s Agricultural College in Rajampet, Annamayya District, celebrated National Farmer’s Day on December 23, 2024, commemorating the birth anniversary of former Indian Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh. The event honored the dedication and hard work of farmers in nation-building. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Choppa Gangi Reddy, the founder of the Agricultural College, emphasized the university’s commitment to educating farmers on modern agricultural practices. Distinguished guests, including Mandal Agricultural Officer Mrs. R. Rajakumari, Village Sericulture Officer Mrs. G. Siddeshwari, and Village Agricultural Assistant Mr. Jay Paul, highlighted the importance of adopting sustainable farming methods, efficient resource management, and producing nutritious food. They urged farmers to engage with agricultural extension services to enhance crop productivity.

As part of the celebrations, faculty and students organized a rally in “Madan Gopal Puram” village, raising awareness among farmers about modern farming techniques such as organic farming, water conservation, soil testing, crop rotation, and drip irrigation. The rally served as a platform for students to connect with the farming community and discuss opportunities offered by the university to improve agricultural yields. Faculty members, including Dr. J. Karpagam, Dr. E. Usha Rani, Dr. B. Sukrutha, Mrs. D. Divya Sri, and Ms. K. Shruti, played key roles in organizing the event, while first-year students actively contributed to its success. The program not only provided valuable guidance to farmers but also highlighted the university’s pivotal role in promoting rural development and agricultural progress.
