Successful Blood Donation Camp at Annamacharya University
Rajampet: A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized on 10.02.2025 at the Annamacharya University campus, in collaboration with the Rajampet Regional Government Hospital. The camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. P.V. Nageswara Raju, Superintendent of the Regional Government Hospital, Rajampet, and Dr. M. Subhashree, Medical Officer. Support staff from RIMS Kadapa also extended their assistance for this noble cause.
During the camp, several students voluntarily donated blood, contributing to the improvement of blood resources in regional hospitals. Dr. S.M.V. Narayana, Principal of AITS Rajampet, remarked, “Blood is one of the most vital components of the human body. It is often challenging to find a donor during emergencies, making voluntary blood donation extremely important.”
Dr. N. Mallikarjuna Rao, Registrar of Annamacharya University, emphasized in his speech, “While we can buy many things with money, blood is not one of them. It is priceless.”
Dr. P.V. Nageswara Raju stated that anyone above 18 years of age is eligible to donate blood and that the donated blood is naturally replenished within 2–3 days. He encouraged everyone to donate at least once a year as it also has health benefits.
Dr. L. Obulapathi, NSS Coordinator of AITS Rajampet, shared that 102 blood samples were collected from students on the day. He extended his heartfelt thanks to the students who donated blood, the staff involved, and the college management for making the event a success.
The camp was efficiently coordinated by Mr. N. Raghunath, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering.
